Polyglass Helps to Raise Cancer Awareness

It’s October, breast cancer awareness month! To support the movement, Polyglass has changed the “Q” icon in its logo from teal to pink on all digital channels. The Polyglass “Q” is not only a symbol of the company’s commitment to developing quality products, but it also represents Polyglass’ promise to help change lives.

Cancer is the leading cause of death across the globe. The World Health Organization notes that, worldwide, nearly 1 in 6 deaths is due to cancer. The National Cancer Institute reports that breast cancer is the most common type of cancer, with 268,670 new cases expected in the United States in 2018. The next most common cancers are lung cancer and prostate cancer.

The fight against cancer is global and through cancer research survivor rates continue to increase. Polyglass has joined forces with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) to help raise funds and awareness. Launched in 2010 as the signature initiative of the Miami Dolphins Foundation, the DCC is a way all of us can be cancer fighters! 100% of participant-raised funds goes to innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

On April 6, 2019, Polyglass employees will bike, run and walk for the third year at the DCC event to beat cancer. See Polyglass in action at the DCC 2018 event and stay tuned for information on how to join Team Polyglass at the next event.
